What Is A Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a nonsurgical skin treatment that makes your complexion bright and treats a wide array of skin concerns and conditions. Chemical peels can be used on the face, neck, back, and décollatage. Chemical peels remove dead, damaged skin cells and cause the oldest layer to slough off. When your skin recovers and begins to heal, you will note a rejuvenated, smoother, clearer complexion. For the best results, Sisram Wellness Center offers one of the best brands on the market. Using VI Peels, our team can help you achieve more radiant skin by addressing fine lines, wrinkles, scars, rough patches, hyperpigmentation problems, and more. Schedule a chemical peel treatment at our Chicago, IL facility to learn more.

How Is A Chemical Peel Treatment Performed?

During your appointment, we will have you lying in a comfortable position as we administer your treatment. A team member will ensure the skin is cleaned before applying the chosen solution to your face and/or neck. We will massage the solution onto the skin and let it work for an appropriate length of time, as determined by your treatment plan. Next, we will clean the solution off your face and apply a neutralizing agent. You should consider bringing sunscreen or a hat to wear home after the treatment.

Cannot say enough about Angie! I've been going to Angie for Dermaplaning, Microderm, and peels for years and she is a true professional - knowledgeable (ask her ANYTHING about skincare - you will be amazed!) and highly skilled. My skin always looks amazing after a visit. Love the beautiful new space in W. Loop too.

About Us
Will my face hurt after a chemical peel?

Based on the chemicals used, you might have some discomfort during and shortly after your peel. You will notice some discomfort if you get a lighter peel; however, this should go away quickly. Deep or medium peels are better for deeper skin blemishes and longer-lasting results, but they usually are more uncomfortable. Numbing cream, skin medications, and soothing ointments may be applied to minimize your discomfort during treatment. Your aesthetician at Sisram Wellness Center will give you tips on skin care after your chemical peel to help your skin heal.

Can I combine a chemical peel with other treatments?

A chemical peel may be combined with another skin treatment at Sisram Wellness Center. In your consultation, be honest with the team at our downtown Chicago, IL med spa about your skin and cosmetic desires so your aesthetician can create a personalized treatment plan to best address your goals. Your plan might include an injectable treatment for wrinkles (like BOTOX® or JUVÉDERM®) plus a chemical peel to refresh your appearance.

Should I get a chemical peel or dermabrasion treatment?

Both microdermabrasion and chemical peels are facial treatments that address surface imperfections to give your skin a rejuvenated appearance. The major difference is that our microdermabrasion treatments use the DiamondGlow facial tool to cleanse and remove the top layer of skin through an exfoliating process. A chemical peel uses a caustic solution that is applied to your skin to dissolve dead and damaged skin cells. In your initial consultation, our skilled team at our Chicago, IL med spa will explain the advantages of each treatment and help you choose whether dermabrasion or a chemical peel is best for your needs and goals.
